kad: Avoid posting your e-mail address in Apple Discussions

Disclaimer: Apple does not necessarily endorse any suggestions, solutions, or third-party software products that may be mentioned in the topic below. Apple encourages you to first seek a solution at Apple Support. The following links are provided as is, with no guarantee of the effectiveness or reliability of the information. Apple does not guarantee that these links will be maintained or functional at any given time. Use the information below at your own discretion.

Apple Discussions has a subscription system whereby the e-mail address in your profile when you signed up for Discussions is your e-mail address to receive notifications whenever you subscribe to a discussion. You can go to My Settings on the right hand side, hide your e-mail address for better security, and in the Subscription preferences at the bottom of the Settings page decide how you subscribe to threads. If you choose not to subscribe to either topics you create or reply-to, you can click on the Subscribe link at the beginning of any Discussions thread. There is no reason to put your e-mail address in the clear, though if you do add it to your public profile unhidden so others can contact you, I recommend putting it in your biography without an @ symbol, and use the word AT instead.
